Joshua Allmen appointed to national actuarial committee
We are pleased to announce that Joshua Allmen, Senior Consulting Actuary, has been appointed to the American Academy of Actuaries’ Multiemployer Plans Committee, effective January 1, 2026.
The Multiemployer Plans Committee operates under the Academy’s Retirement Practice Council and provides independent and objective actuarial information, analysis, and education to support the formation of sound public policy. Committee members frequently contribute to work groups that develop recommendations for governmental and quasi‑governmental bodies on laws and regulations affecting the U.S. retirement system.
What Joshua will do on the committee

- Help develop recommendations and issue briefs for policymakers

About Joshua
Joshua is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He brings over 23 years of actuarial experience, including more than 20 years focused on U.S. pension plans. His expertise includes leading consulting teams, plan design, developing modeling tools, and supporting regulatory compliance. He began his multiemployer focus ahead of the 2008 market downturns and has been advising plans since.
Joshua’s motivation for volunteering is grounded in enhancing professionalism, sound plan funding, risk management, and advancing the multiemployer system through education and idea sharing.
