Welcome to Jeff Kao, Senior Benefits Consultant
Rael & Letson is pleased to welcome Jeff Kao to our Health Benefits and Pension practices. Jeff brings more than 25 years of experience advising Taft-Hartley trust funds, combining deep multiemployer plan knowledge, an analytical background, and decades of experience working directly with boards of trustees.
Throughout his career, Jeff has served as a trusted advisor to health and welfare and pension funds of varying sizes and industries. His work encompasses benefit strategy and design, financial analysis and forecasting, vendor strategy and negotiations, compliance, and the broader operational issues facing today’s multiemployer plans.
Jeff’s approach to consulting is highly personal. He believes effective advice starts with understanding a fund’s history, its participants, its trustees, and the objectives behind the numbers. That perspective allows him to develop solutions customized to each client’s circumstances rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. He pairs that creativity with rigorous analysis and straightforward communication, helping trustees understand their options and make well-informed decisions.
Joining Rael & Letson allows Jeff to build on his approach to consulting within a firm that has 60 years of commitment to the multiemployer community. He looks forward to combining his experience, creativity, and knowledge of Taft-Hartley plans with the expertise and capabilities of the broader Rael & Letson team to help trustees address both the challenges they face today and those ahead.
Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. That quantitative foundation continues to influence his approach today: understand the numbers, understand the people affected by them, and find practical solutions that accomplish the client’s objectives.
We are thrilled to welcome Jeff and look forward to the experience, creativity, and commitment to clients he brings to Rael & Letson.
