HEALTH BENEFITS ANALYST - FOSTER CITY OFFICE
Position Summary:
We seek a client-focused employee to provide technical support and service to health and welfare benefit consultants on assigned accounts, who works under minimal supervision on duties as outlined.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial: Analyze and prepare financial (and other specialized) reports as needed; prepare annual budgets including projecting future benefit costs, and calculating contribution and COBRA rates; obtain and review renewals with vendors; estimate cost impact of benefit changes; determine incurred but not paid claims and plan reserves.
Administrative: Draft Plan Comparisons and Participant Announcement letters; draft Summary Plan Descriptions (employee benefit booklet), Plan Documents, SMMs and amendments; review provider contracts and agreements; prepare vendor requests for proposals and analyze the bids; ensure compliance with regulations and reporting requirements, provide administrative assistance to clients.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to interact/develop professional relationships at all levels both internally and externally
- Proficient computer knowledge including, but not limited to, all aspects of Microsoft Office suite
- Accomplished verbal/written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Adept at handling multiple tasks in organized, timely manner to facilitate peer review and meeting deadlines
- Accurate, with keen attention to detail
- Mindful of the reasonableness of analysis/results being presented
- Adaptable and unafraid to ask questions, with strong interest in continual learning
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Associate degree or equivalent, with two or more years of relevant job experience. California Life Agent's license preferred. CEBS designation a plus.

HEALTH ACTUARIAL ANALYST - FOSTER CITY OFFICE
Position Summary:
We seek a client-focused employee to work on retiree medical valuations and provide technical support and service to health and welfare benefit consultants on assigned accounts. The analyst will work well under minimal supervision on duties as outlined.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Health Cost Projections: Prepare and/or review annual budgets including projecting future benefit costs, and calculating contribution and COBRA rates; estimate cost impact of benefit changes; determine incurred but not paid claims and plan reserves.
Valuation: Analyze data integrity using Excel or other database management tool; interface with consultants and administrators; customize our valuation system by way of minor computer programming; draft reports; assist with special projects as needed.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to interact/develop professional relationships at all levels both internally and externally
- Proficient computer knowledge including, but not limited to, all aspects of Microsoft Office suite
- Working knowledge of a pension or retiree medical valuation system
- Excellent analytical skills
- Accomplished verbal/written communication skills
- Adept at handling multiple tasks in organized, timely manner to facilitate peer review and meeting deadlines
- Accurate, with keen attention to detail
- Mindful of the reasonableness of analysis/results being presented
- Adaptable and unafraid to ask questions, with strong interest in continual learning
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, business related or actuarial science preferred, with at least two actuarial exams passed (current, active pursuit an actuarial designation is not required); minimum three years of relevant job experience.
